Jeffrey G. Gomez
A Partner with Watershed Group, Mr. Gomez manages
the fraudulent claims division for the company.
He has experience in negotiating lines of credit,
raising capital for ventures, securing mezzanine
financing and developing business and marketing
plans. He has much extensive experience in business
start-ups. He is experienced in strategic planning
and business development for businesses. Mr.
Gomez also was a co-founder of MedeLaser and
served as its Chairman of the Board and Chief
Marketing Officer.
Mr. Gomez was educated at the University of
Texas and received a B.B.A. degree in International
Business and Finance in 1976. He has over 18
years of healthcare experience in various capacities
as owner, corporate officer and director.
Mr. Gomez began his healthcare business experience
in 1986 with Texas Aries Medical Services as
Marketing Director, Director of Hospital Based
Services and Regional Director of three different
regions, responsible for marketing, training,
operations, customer relations as well as negotiating
the contracts for 15 hospitals in the regions.
He was responsible for increasing the sales
revenue by 500% within six months of his employment.
In 1989, Mr. Gomez founded Medical Assistance
Program Advisors (“M.A.P.A.”) which provided
financial services to hospitals and served as
its President and Chief Executive Officer. He
directed all activities and initiatives for
M.A.P.A. and grew the company to $9.6 million
in annual revenue before selling it 1999. During
this period the company became the 357th largest
Hispanic company in the United States. Also
during this period (1996), Mr. Gomez founded
Laser BioTherapy, Inc. and assembled, directed
and led the management team in the development
of a unique, medical laser device for use in
therapeutic pain management. He participated
in all aspects of design, integration, development,
manufacturing, clinical trial marketing, business
planning and Federal Drug Administration approval
processing. He resigned his position in 1999
to focus his attention on his business interest
in M.A.P.A.
After selling M.A.P.A. in 1999, he became the
President of Electronic Eligibility Systems,
Inc. in 2002 and assisted in the design and
development of the company’s integrated software
for determining eligibility for government entitlement
programs for uninsured patients in Texas hospitals. In 2004,
Mr. Gomez formed MedeLaser and acquired their
Patents for biostimulation and therapeutic use.
During his 18 years in the medical industry,
he has been successful in developing relationships
with Hospital entities and organizations. Most
recently he initiated clinical trials with a
branch of the US Military for medical laser
device.
Mr. Gomez was nominated as Hispanic Outstanding
Entrepreneurs in 1997. Additionally, he received
awards in 1995, 96 and for 1997 for the fastest
growing Hispanics business in the Nation, the
Hispanic 500 largest business as well as the
Dallas 100 Fastest growing businesses for 1995,
and 1996.
