Mark Wilson
Mr. Wilson has over 20 years of experience in Private Equity Investments and Management. He is currently a Director of Preservation Capital Management, a life settlement management and investment company. Previously, Mr. Wilson has also held similar positions with VastMarkets, Inc, an integrated consulting and management firm, advising companies on strategic acquisitions, turnarounds and divestitures and at Stone Capital, a $1+ billion diversified private equity holding company which included Bluebonnet Savings Bank. At Stone Capital, he was primarily focused on negotiating, structuring and managing portfolio investments mainly in the areas of healthcare, extended learning and electronic transactions and payments. Mr. Wilson was active in the strategic planning and business operations as well as identification of management personnel of the portfolio businesses.
Prior to Stone, his 10 years experience in the financial services area was highlighted by his tenure at PaineWebber from 1988 to 1994 as an Investment Banker in the Asset-Backed Securitization Group. Mr. Wilson negotiated with bank and insurance companies on whole loan purchases and sales in multiple asset classes, including real estate mortgages, automobile loans and credit card portfolios as well as subsequent creation into asset-backed securities.
After leaving PaineWebber, Mr. Wilson oversaw Rodman and Renshaw’s capital market expansion into the Southwest in 1994 and 1995 and led the Asset-Backed Securitization group. He worked within the firm’s parent company, Grupo ABACO of Monterrey Mexico, advising on the company’s North America growth plans, mergers and acquisitions and investment portfolio.
Mr. Wilson is a versatile professional with excellent skills in critical thought, strategic business planning and financial analysis. He is a highly organized and driven individual and an accomplished leader with strong focus on team building, staff development, and operational effectiveness and has a track record of achieving exceptional results.
Mr. Wilson is a former Board Member and past President of the Japan America Society of North Texas. He is also past President of Kappa Alpha Alumni Association.
Mr. Wilson received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of North Texas in 1983. He currently holds a Texas Life and Heath Insurance License. Mr. Wilson has attended numerous professional development courses and seminars in finance as well as continuing education classes in insurance.
